This high altitude winter and summer region with the famous town of Chamonix at its heart not only offers skiers a highly technical ski area but also has pistes more suited to family skiing and beginners.
Snow coverage is always good thanks not only to the altitude, cold air currents and the barrier provided by Mont Blanc, but also to the sun in the lower valleys.
The pistes are spread over three slopes (the Argentière glacier, Lognan and the Pendant) that offer the choice between a range of pistes and some splendid off-piste. On skis or on a snowboard, it is possible to ride close to a glacier and enjoy remarkable snow coverage until May. For freestyle fans, a new snowpark and a boardercross have been opened in the Lognan Area.
