Because of its orientation, Le Grand Massif benefits from abundant and regular snow coverage throughout the season; the area is particularly appreciated for the quality of its spring snow. Its Nordic ski area is also highly renowned as it is the highest and has the best snow coverage in the Alps.

With its 265 km of ski slopes, Le Grand Massif ski area is amongst the biggest interconnected ski areas in the French Alps.
