The Ultra-Trail in Chamonix

From 27th August to 2nd September, over 10,000 athletes will compete in the Ultra-Trail Mont Blanc. The event has grown to be recognized worldwide and is composed of five ultra-endurance trails. Runners will mainly take the Mont Blanc hiking trail around the legendary resort of Chamonix.

Included in the race, the UTMB ©, is a cumulative distance of 171 kilometers and a climb of over 10,000 meters proving not to be for the faint hearted, it’s been dubbed the "race of all superlatives"! Along the way racers will complete a tour of the Mont Blanc massif, across 3 countries, France, Switzerland and Italy, where they will be pushed to their limits over a time cap of 46 h 30 min.

Every summer, the event gathers international trailers by the thousands, including their entourage of teams, family and friends. The event wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds volunteers and incredible environment of the Mont-Blanc massif. It’s a date not to be missed in the sporting calendar, with the opportunity to meet the top athletes and mountain enthusiasts from around the world.
