Paddle in winter

See you from January 17 to 19 for a frosty competition... As its name suggests, the Glagla Race requires a good resistance to the cold! This Standing Paddle competition is attracting an ever-growing public every year. There were 650 participants from 22 different countries taking part in the 2019 edition.

Rowing standing in the middle of winter on the crystalline waters of Lake Annecy in Haute-Savoie, currently at 6°C, is indeed phisically and mentally demanding. Are put to the test, endurance first of all, with the Long Distance (14.5 km), but also technicality with the Technical Race of 3 times 4 km or the spirit of cohesion with the Dragon Race, a competition of 4 members in several runs.

Regarding the program on Friday, the welcome of the participants, a solo walk with Ingrid Ulrich, a workshop with Tim Wolf and a conference are planned. On Saturday, after a briefing and a warm-up, it's time for the competition. Once the 4 events are over, the prize-giving ceremony will take place at 4.30 pm before a live concert.
