In Tignes, Skiing continues well after the Easter break

The Espace Killy (Tignes - Val d'Isère) is one of the largest French ski areas which comprises 79 ski lifts serving 300km of slopes for all levels. While Tignes will close its slopes on May 8th 2016 - the connection with Val D'Isere will shut 1st of May. For the delight of passionate skiers, 20 km of ski slopes from the Grande Motte glacier will reopen from June 25th to August 7th.

The Grande Motte Glacier is one of three main French ski areas open in the summer, along with the glaciers of Les 2 Alpes and Pissaillas in Val d'Isere, giving additional skiing time between 3,456 m and 3,000 m altitude. A different skiing experience from the one we normally know since it is here to enjoy the cool morning on the slopes and give way to the flip flops the afternoon.

Like in the winter, alpine skiing, hiking, as well as tricks in the snow park are common practice. The sunny terrace of the “Panoramic” Ski bar is definitely recommended for its exceptional view of the glacier.
