Tignes Trail: a sporting challenge at an altitude of 2,000 m

August 14^th and 15^th: 5^th edition of a race close to the summits

 Tignes, a prestigious resort with an international reputation, is hosting a highly sought-after event for mountain running enthusiasts: the Tignes Trail.

Six routes in the heart of the Vanoise massif in the Haute-Tarentaise have been designed and mapped out for this occasion by the local trail club, a real expert on the Tignes trails. Three of them are intended for children and teenagers who wish to participate in this experience in the heart of nature.

On Saturday 14^th August, the young ones choose the distance adapted to their age: 700 m (10 to 11 years old), 1.9 km (12 to 13 years old) or 3.3 km (14 to 17 years old). On Sunday 15 August, beginners or experienced runners in search of discovery, pleasure or to surpass themselves will have the opportunity to do so. Depending on their level, they can choose a longer or shorter course: 13 km (D+ 700 m), 17 km (D+ 1,800 m) or 44 km (D+ 2,800 m). The races take place almost entirely on trails, far from the tarmac and at an altitude of over 2,000 m. They offer magnificent panoramic views of the peaks, glaciers and lakes.

Apart from this event, Tignes offers a wide variety of routes for trail enthusiasts (forest paths at Les Brévières, trails near the high altitude lakes, single tracks, etc.) and a wide range of activities for the whole family, in summer and winter. Ice karting, dog sledding, ice diving, hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, horse riding, climbing, via ferrata, kayaking, paddle, golf... the resort, renowned for its dynamism, is an inexhaustible source of leisure activities! The 300 km of slopes of the Killy Tignes / Val d'Isère ski area are devoid of snow during the summer season, so Tignes gives insatiable skiers the opportunity to go to the glacier to ski down blue, red or black slopes. This makes the resort a rare and privileged destination.
 

Le Lodge des Neiges

In search of the most beautiful locations for its residences, MGM chose to set up Le Lodge des Neiges in the heart of the village of Tignes 1800.
