29 and 30 January 2022: return of the Tarentaise obstacle races
Following the cancellation of the Winter Spartan Race in 2021 due to the health situation, the event will return to Valmorel for its 6th edition. This event is held on the last weekend of January and offers sports enthusiasts 4 obstacle races: sprint (5 km and 20 obstacles), super (10 km and 25 obstacles), hurricane heat (4h team race) and kids race (0.8 km for 4-6 year olds; 1.6 km for 7-9 year olds; 3.2 km for 10-14 year olds).
In the midst of winter and the splendid Alpine landscapes, the participants will run through the snow, climb the steep slopes of Valmorel, crawl under barbed wire, climb a horizontal climbing wall, carry tree trunks and jump over flames! Each obstacle, under the watchful eye of the judges, must be crossed by the athletes, on pain of a series of burpees... Will you try this experiment?
Organised in the Alps since 2016, the Winter Spartan Race was an almost immediate success. It is no coincidence that Valmorel has hosted each of its editions. It is the first accessible resort in Tarentaise. Moreover, this Savoyard village has direct access to the Grand Domaine (1450m - 2550m) which is an interesting playground due to its diversified terrain.
