The mountains, an attractive summer destination

Summer has fully settled on the peaks and mountain pastures. As the spring progresses, the mountains have shed their white coat to reveal their green landscapes. It is true that the resorts and their ski areas are a great success as soon as the first snowflakes appear and invite winter sports enthusiasts to join them... but they are just as attractive destinations during the summer season! Indeed, holidaymakers who prefer to travel in July and August, in search of calm and freshness, often choose to spend their holidays at altitude, far from the hustle and bustle of the coast.

Walking in the fresh air, discovering breathtaking panoramas and an authentic heritage, exploring wide open spaces, tasting mountain specialities... holidaymakers have the opportunity to fill up on nature and memories with their families in a friendly, authentic and sporting atmosphere! Indeed, the mountains are a huge playground in summer. Sporting, contemplative or unusual leisure activities... there is something for all tastes and generations!

L'été au sommet - Activités été montagne

An incredible choice of land and water-based activities

The mountains are full of activities for the whole family. Hiking, zip-lining, tree climbing, archery, summer sledging, mountain biking, rafting, canyoning, hang-gliding, paragliding, climbing, via ferrata, fishing, paddle, horse riding, yoga... the resorts offer a multitude of leisure activities in the summer that will delight young and old alike.

For thrill-seekers, try the Fantasticable in Châtel, a giant zip line that flies over the hamlet of Plaine Dranse at nearly 100 km/h, or get on board a racing car for a 700-metre downhill circuit with X-TREME luge in La Rosière
Make your children's eyes shine with a pony ride in Les Saisies, a fun course in the forest in Manigod, a night out at Alta Lumina in Les Gets, a day at the Pontet leisure park in Les Contamines-Montjoie or at the highest water sports centre in Europe in Val Cenis.

The more sporty may want to try a trail in La Plagne or a mountain bike track in Le Grand-Bornand, while fishermen, whether amateurs or experts, looking for peace and quiet, will find themselves in Flaine near the lake of Vernant or the lake of Airon.
Paddle on the lake of Tignes, paragliding initiation course in Valmorel, speleology outing in Samoëns, discovery of the Mer de Glace in Chamonix... let yourself be seduced by extraordinary activities!
